About the Opportunity

FocusACT now has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Administrative Assistant to join their team, based in Deakin, ACT.

Your primary role will be to provide daily administrative support to the organisation. You will be provided with mentoring and training, enabling you to successfully work within a dynamic office environment, that’s at the cutting edge of innovation and technology.

More specifically, some of your key duties will include:

  • Completing day-to-day running of basic office administration tasks;
  • Liaising with external suppliers, contractors, and clients;
  • Undertaking payroll and employee records data entry tasks;
  • Maintaining employee records, reports, and assisting with WHS;
  • Maintaining financial records and reports (under instruction);
  • Assisting the preparation of written reports, correspondence, procedures, and work instructions;
  • Taking the initiative to seek other tasks and assist the team in sharing the workload; and
  • Promoting a positive image of the agency by demonstrating a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. 

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need the ability to learn office and administration operations and/or have prior experience in this area. More importantly, will be your can-do team player attitude!

While experience isn't necessarily essential to this role, you must demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and a high attention to detail, and handle all responsibilities with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism. 

Any experience with the Microsoft Office products and MYOB will be held in high regard. Most importantly, you will be self-motivated, thrive in a team environment and be willing to fit into a culturally diverse team.

The Benefits

Your dedication and hard work will be rewarded with a starting salary of $40,000 - $45,000 plus superannuation and salary sacrifice options.
